What Are Community Initiatives?
AVMF listens to community concerns, studies the issues, collaborates with key stakeholders, and provides assistance and resources to meet indentified community needs.
Community Initiatives develop in response to community health and wellness needs. Initiatives can involve organizing around a specific issue, such as housing for senior citizens, or helping start a new organization to provide ongoing services. AVMF has fostered many emerging organizations that are now fully independent non-profit organizations, including Aspen Hope Center, Aspen Homeless Shelter, Hospice of the Valley, The Right Door, Pathfinders, and Komen Aspen.
